Biography:
2006: Posted 19 tackles, including a sack and 2.5 tackles for losses … made eight starts at defensive tackle and played in nine games before having season-ending knee surgery on Nov. 17 … used his big frame to bat down five passes and made the game-winning extra point block in overtime against Oklahoma State … had season-high five tackles against Army.

2005: Produced 28 tackles, including 7.5 for loss of yardage, while starting 10 games and seeing action in all 11 contests … had a season-high five tackles against Texas, Iowa State and Texas State … came on strong down the stretch with at least a half tackle for loss in his last four games, including two against Oklahoma and Texas … also produced three quarterback sacks.

2004: Earned first-team Freshman All-America honors after starting all 12 games at defensive tackle for the Aggies … produced 34 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss of nineyards … batted down two passes and blocked a kick … season-high tackle game was six vs. Colorado.

2003: Redshirted.

High School: A first-team 3A All-State selection by the Texas Sports Writers Association, Bryant was one of eight finalists for the Willie Ray Smith Award presented to the top offensive and defensive players in Southeast Texas … a consensus Texas Top 100 recruit … his senior play earned him District and Golden Triangle Defensive MVP honors … was named the 2001 District Defensive Player of the Year and named the Southeast Texas Defensive Player of the Year by the Beaumont Enterprise … coached by Danny Lauve … recorded 94 tackles and had 10 sacks as a junior … also was a standout with Jasper’s basketball team.

Personal: Joseph “Red” Anthony Bryant is the son of Joseph and Annette Bryant of Jasper, Texas … born April 18, 1984 … agricultural leadership and development major.
