| A very productive football player when healthy, Wright possesses the size, strength and abilities to be an interior runner. The lack of pure speed limits his upside. |
| Biography: |
Second-team All-Conference choice last year after posting
career-best rushing numbers of 261/1,462/11 while adding 29/2/1 as a
receiver. Started the first two games of the ’04 season before tearing
his left patella tendon, which required two years to recover. Totaled
1,038 rushing yards in ’03.
Pos:
Strong, north/south runner who plays with a lot of power. Patient,
waits for blocks to develop then finds the cutback lanes. Keeps his
feet moving up the field and breaks tackles to pick up extra yardage.
Uses an effective straight-arm and is a punishing ball carrier who
works to keep runs alive. Solid receiver out of the backfield.
Neg:
Lacks a burst through the hole and possesses marginal speed. Not a
creative or elusive runner. Previous medical history is a concern. |
