John Fox was optimistic earlier in the day that Stewart would get done in time for practice tomorrow morning. Hurney is not returning calls from the media. 1:00 p.m. The guys over at Charlotte.com have some news and notes regarding the players arriving at camp. Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette has a great, informative blog going on at CarolinaGrowl.com. He's following the negotiations of the first round picks very closely. 11:00 a.m. Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette is reporting that Ryan Clady (12) has signed, meaning that the two players around Stewart (along with Williams of the Bears) have signed. One of the complicating factors, however, is that Stewart is a running back and not an OT. A deal should be easier to reach now. Clady's signing also helps the Otah negotiations, as that means that there are four OT's near where Otah was selected to have signed -- Clady, Williams, Cherilus and Albert... so Otah should be following suit shortly. Friday: 9:30 a.m. Still no word on first-rounders Jonathan Stewart or Jeff Otah. According to an AP article, the Panthers are feverishly negotiating with the agents of both players trying to get them into camp on time. In the article, Hurney stated that there were "no breakthroughs in negotiations with either player." Tickets on sale Saturday One thing that I don't understand is why tickets go on sale to the general public on the same day as training camp, at about the same time the Panthers take the field at Wofford College for their first official practice. Most of the die-hard fans are in Spartanburg watching the team, and telephone is the only way for them to get tickets. Does that make any sense to anyone? blog comments powered by Disqus Copyright © Scout.com and PantherInsider.com | ||||||||||||||||||
