According to Adam Caplan of Scout.com, Panther linebackers coach Ken Flajole will become the defensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams under new head coach Steve Spagnuolo.

Flajole took over for former linebackers coach Sam Mills during the 2003 season after Mills' battle with cancer took a turn for the worse. Previously, Flajole worked three seasons with the Seahakws as their defensive backs coach and one as linebackers coach.

Flajole is credited with having one of the best linebacking corps in the league and developing one of the best young linebackers in the game in Jon Beason.

No word on who will replace Flajole on the Panthers' staff, but one favorite could be Sam Mills III, son of former Panther great Sam Mills. Sam Mills III has been with the Panthers since 2005 and has served as the defensive quality control coach since 2006.
