Williams sets team record in win
"The offensive line, they're my MVPs of the game," Williams said.
When asked where this game ranks for him all-time, Williams downplayed his afternoon by saying, "It's not like they were 40- or 50-yard runs. But I will probably learn to appreciate this more as I get older. But right now I'm looking forward to playing the next game."
Williams scored less than seven minutes into the game to give Carolina a 7-0 lead.
It actually appeared he had scored on the play before. In fact, one official actually signaled a touchdown, but it was ruled the play had been blown dead after the Packers stopped his forward progress.
He added another run in the second quarter and two in the fourth, including the game-winner with 1:30 left on the clock.
Despite his record-setting day, Williams' streak of four straight 100-yard rushing games came to an end as he finished with 72 yards on 21 carries. But that didn't seem to bother Williams, who was all smiles in the locker room after the game.
"I will trade that for a win any day," Williams said.
