Peppers will play 2 more games

Charlotte, NC - Panthers rookie defensive end Julius Peppers, who leads the NFL in sacks and will most likely win the rookie of the year, will be able to play two more games.

The appeal of Peppers' pending four-game suspension will be heard December 3 in New York. Peppers will play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, and also will play against the Cleveland Browns on December 1.

The substance that Peppers faces the suspension is believed to be a derivative of ephedrine, which was banned last year.

Peppers will likely be suspended for the final four games of this season. He was the second overall player selected in the 2002 draft and will lose $235,294 in base salary.

He will also jeopardize a $1 million bonus for earning a Pro Bowl berth and a bonus of $100,000 for being named defensive rookie of the year. He has 11 sacks this season.
