The Carolina Panthers sent DT Kris Jenkins to the New York Jets today for a 3rd and 5th round pick.

Jenkins also signed a 5-year contract extension that will pay him $35 million.

"Kris is extremely excited to be going to New York," said Jenkins' agent, Tony Paige. "He leaves Carolina with no malice or anything like that and is grateful they drafted him and gave h im a chance to play. He had a lot of great memories there."

Jenkins spoke out last season that he wasn't happy living in Charlotte and that he wanted to live close to his home in Maryland. With the Jets, Jenkins will be only 3.5 hours away.
