Lucas: I should play next week
Posted Sep 19, 2006

Cornerback Ken Lucas left the game in the fourth quarter with a neck injury and did not return.

"I should play next week," said Lucas, who left the field with his shoulder wrapped. "I have to get it worked on and I will be alright. I hit him the wrong way and got it dinged. It's nothing real serious, but I should be back next week."

With Lucas out, the Vikings went right after his replacement, rookie cornerback Richard Marshall. Troy Williamson finished the game with five catches for 106 yards, most of those coming after Lucas left the game.

Lucas had an interception for Carolina prior to the injury.
