--RB DeShaun Foster will start Sunday for Carolina despite being outperformed by teammate DeAngelo Williams.

--WR Keyshawn Johnson admits he's quite proud of the statistics he's accumulated during his 11-year NFL career. But he'd trade his fifth career 100-yard receiving game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday for a Carolina win. "I just play. I don't care about statistics," Johnson said after catching five passes for 106 yards in Carolina's 16-13 defeat. "Obviously you are proud of statistics but when you don't win a football game ... To me the biggest challenge that I have is to win. I want to win real bad. I surely didn't envision being 0-2 and it has happened."

Ever the comic, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer then added, "Now we have to go down to, what the hell team is that, Tampa? We play them and hopefully get a win there."

--WR Drew Carter has a hairline fracture in a finger on his right hand. There is plenty of swelling, but Carter still feels like he will be able to play this week. If Carter can't the Panthers may have to make a move at receiver depending on whether Steve Smith is able to play. If that happens, one logical pickup could be Ricky Proehl, who knows the Carolina offense well.

--RG Evan Mathis was replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Will Montgomery. It's unlikely Mathis will be back in the lineup anytime soon. Montgomery played fine on Sunday and when center Justin Hartwig returns the team may move Geoff Hangartner to right guard.

--MLB Dan Morgan will be reevaluated this week after missing last week's game with a concussion.

--WR Steve Smith will likely be listed as questionable this week against Tampa Bay.

--CB Ken Lucas has a neck injury and will be reevaluated later this week.
