CHARLOTTE, NC -- According to Charles Chandler of the Charlotte Observer, The Panthers and 3rd round pick James Anderson have reached an agreement on a three-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Anderson, a linebacker from Virginia Tech, was selected 88th overall in the 2006 NFL Draft, and is expected to compete with veterans Na'il Diggs and Keith Adams for a starting spot opposite 2005 first round pick Thomas Davis.
Anderson is likely to make an impact on Special Teams. "Coming into the NFL, you may not get into the game right away on defense, so my experience from the past gives me an opportunity to make an immediate impact on special teams with the Panthers," Anderson said recently in an interview with PantherInsider.com.
