Panthers cut 2, place Ross on IR

The Panthers made their three remaining roster moves today, waiving tight end/long snapper Adam Johnson and rookie safety Ben Emanuel and placing WR/ST Micah Ross on Injured Reserve.

The Panthers roster currently stands at 76 players, which includes 11 Roster exemptions.

Ben Emanuel was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, 171st overall. If Emanuel passes waivers, he is a prime candidate for the Panthers practice squad.

Micah Ross is a special teams player who came to the Panthers after the team cut oft-troubled safety Jarrod Cooper and placing Rod Smart on the IR in 2004.

The Panthers have to cut down to 53 players by 4:00 pm on Saturday. Recommended Stories
