Panthers draft Frank Alexander

The Sooners' leader last year in both sacks and tackles for loss has his new destination in front of him, as the Carolina Panthers selected defensive end Frank Alexander with the eighth pick in the fourth round and the 103rd overall pick.

Alexander racked up 8.5 sacks and a ridiculous 19 tackles for a loss of 81 yards in 2011.

He also finished with 54 tackles, a career-high, eight pass break ups, three forced fumbles, an interception and fumble recovery.

The list of awards was hefty for the 6-foot-4, 270-pounder.

Alexander earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year by the AP, Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and All-Big 12 first team by both the AP and coaches.

Additionally, he received Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors by the coaches and was Hendricks Award finalist.

His 14 career pass break ups ties the most for any OU defensive lineman in history.
