Missouri had it’s Pro Day today at the Dan Devine Indoor facility before NFL scouts and coaches, along with many Tiger players as well as family and agents watching as 19 prospects, including 9 Missouri Tiger players, participated in testing in the 40 yard dash, pro agility shuttle, vertical jump, broad jump, 3- cone drill and various other drills.
The highlight players on the day were Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert and defensive end Aldon Smith, both predicted to be selected in the first round of this years draft.
ShowMeMizzou.com will focus on the 8 other Missouri Tiger participants in another piece. For now we will focus on Blaine Gabbert’s day.
Gabbert did not test in any drills, but instead put on an exhibition of his throwing skills and also showed scouts his ability to work under center, something he did not do in Missouri’s spread offense.
Gabbert also was able to show his footwork and ability to make all of the various throws, including showing his touch on the ball, arm strength and accuracy on his passes such as the deep pass.
The large number of scouts and spectators on the day came away impressed with Gabbert’s skills that he put on display.
Gabbert himself said that he was pleased with his performance and that he would be having several individual workouts for NFL teams starting next week.
